Hanko Bird Observatory 3-5th May

Last weekend I was in Halias. On Saturday there was a bird race called Tornien Taisto. That means a competion between bird watching towers around Finland. The idea is to observe as many bird species as possible during eight morning hours.

We had a good day and we won the race! There were no less than 334 other towers that participated so this was really something. We had 115 species during the race and 122 during the whole day. This is also a day record in Hanko Bird Observatory. The best species seen were Serin, White Stork and Black-tailed Godwit. Thanks for great birding Aatu, Soiska, Aksu, Pepe, Jari and Vilppu!

We won!!
