Last weekend I went to Rönnskär B.O. island in Kirkkonummi with Annika, Kajsa, William and Markus with his two kids. On Saturday there was a strong western wind and we didn't see anything good but on Sunday the wind was still strong but now from northwest so we enjoyed good raptor migration. During Sunday we saw 375 migrating Sparrowhawks and a good variety of other raptors including one nice male Pallid Harrier and one female-plumaged Pallid/Montagu's Harrier which was too far to be identified safely. Other nice birds seen were Great White Egret, Rock Pipit and Red-breasted Flycatcher. Weather was not very good for ringing but still Markus and William ringed over 200 birds during two days while I was mostly watching migration. Thanks to William, Kajsa, Annika and Markus for great time there!
Yesterday Little Bustard was found in Pyhtää so I went there and managed to add this species to my finnish list. There's one poor quality document photo of the Bustard below. Also one very bad photo of the unidentified female-plumaged (we were almost sure it was a Pallid) Harrier, taken from 2 kilometres.
