Slow days

Ringing is still slow as not so many new migrant passerines have arrived. We are catching mainly Sedge, Reed and Savi's Warblers in addition to local birds. Today was the first day to notice in the field that some Lesser Whitethroats have arrived.

Today I visited quickly North Beach with Itai. Western Reef Heron and Greater Sand Plover were worth of mentioning from there. Salt pools held quite a few waders, mostly Ruffs. Yesterday me and Re'a had a migrating Oystercatcher while setting up the nets for the evening Swallow ringing.

Trap number 8 waiting for new migrants to arrive.

Sardinian Warbler. Old adult female, approaching male head pattern.

Savi's Warbler.

Laughing Dove.
