A couple of days ago I got interesting news from my friend Janne Leppänen. He has caught a ringed Siberian Jay in Juuka and the ring told that I had ringed this bird almost exactly one year ago in Kontiolahti. After a little map research it seemed that the bird had moved around 32km from the ringing place. This might be a quite interesting recovery as I think there are not many recoveries of the birds that have moved over 5-10km.
Siberian Jay A-699312 in Kontiolahti after ringing 20.2.2009.This was a 2cy bird when I ringed it. Notice a typical shape and the degree of wear of alula feathers.
