Last weekend I went to Eastern Finland with Jari Laitasalo to do some birding around Ilomantsi and Lieksa areas. It's now almost the worst time of a year to go birding as almost all the song birds are quiet and concentrating on breeding and moulting before autumn migration. Saturday was rather quiet. We saw lot of raptors but nothing unusual. Sunday was much better and we managed to see Little Bunting, Three-toed Woodpecker, Greenish Warbler and we also ringed one Red-flanked Bluetail.
This time I had time to take other kind of photos than only of birds in hand, so here are some pics of common birds we saw there =) Thank you Jari for company!
