Jurmo b.o. - Purple Sandpipers

I was 4 days at Jurmo island. The main idea of the trip was to colour ring Purple Sandpipers, again. This time we were more lucky than in November although during two first days we didn't catch any of them but the last two days produced 15 sandpipers. Thanks to Kajsa, William and Annika for company. The condiotions were not easy but we had a really good time in Heinäsaari =)

Ringing.


The traps we used. Notice those tame Purples
all around the traps on the shore. Photo was taken with
18mm lens just a couple of meters from the birds.

compare for example the colour and the width of the fringes to
juvenile wing above.
