Short visit to Tankar
Last weekend I went to Tankar Bird Observatory island with Annika, Antti and Daniel. Two days is a way too short time for any island but we didn't have any other choice so we tried to see as much as possible ín the weather given. Saturday was very bad as it was raining all the day but Sunday was much better and we saw some decent birds as well. Sunday highlights were migrating adult Yellow-billed/Great Northern Diver (too too far to id) and a 2cy Pallid Harrier which arrived from the sea and passed the island on its way to northeast. Pallid Harrier was a new species for the island! There were also 2 Ring Ouzels on the island and at least one pair of Willow Ptarmigans breeding.
