12 000 up!

We got our wave! As soon as the weather got a bit colder bushes were again loaded with birds. There are many Lesser Whitethroats still going but yesterday we had our first big morning of Blackcaps and among them first Garden and Barred Warblers and lot of Eastern Bonelli's Warblers. Yesterday was one of the biggest ringing days at IBRCE ever. The ringing total of yesterday was over 900 birds and around 60 birds were also retrapped. So we handled almost 1 000 birds in a day! Dutch volunteers Bram and Teun arrived just in time to make our ringing team perfect and big enough for such mornings. During this season we have now already ringed more than 12000 birds!
